NEW PPIC POLL: Taxpayer Deception Act a Poison Pill Voters Won’t Stomach
Democrats & Republicans United in Strong Bipartisan Opposition with 63% of Voters saying NO to Dangerous Anti-Taxpayer Initiative
Sacramento, CA – A new poll released Thursday night by the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) shows a strong majority of likely voters (63%) opposed to the Taxpayer Deception Act, a November 2024 ballot measure funded by wealthy real estate developers and landlords. Californians are united in bipartisan opposition to this dangerous initiative, including a majority of Democrats, a majority of Republicans, and a majority of independents.
“Voters are overwhelmingly rejecting this extreme initiative that helps a few wealthy real estate developers and landlords avoid paying their fair share, but hurts everyone else,” said Jonathan Underland, spokesperson for NO on Taxpayer Deception Act campaign. “Californians see straight through the deceit peddled by the California Business Roundtable, and are unwilling to support a measure that would dismantle our entertainment industry, taking thousands and thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in economic growth along with it.”
From PPIC’s poll, which includes the circulating Title and Summary for the Taxpayer Deception Act:
