California Democratic Party Sounds the Alarm on Dangerous “Taxpayer Deception Act;” Urges NO Vote on

San Diego, CA – The California Democratic Party, representing 10 million Democratic voters across the state, this weekend endorsed a NO vote on the Taxpayer Deception Act – a dangerous initiative slated for the November ballot.

Rusty Hicks, Chair of the California Democratic Party said, “The Taxpayer Deception Act is an undemocratic and unfair attack on California taxpayers, funded by a few extremely wealthy real estate developers and landlords who don’t want to pay their fair share. If this measure passes in November, it will rob voters of their right to fund critical public services – forcing cuts to schools, emergency and disaster response, homelessness prevention, and parks; and will gut funding for working peoples’ priorities like  paid family leave. The California Democratic Party is proud to oppose this cynical initiative, and we urge Californians to vote NO in November.”

The Taxpayer Deception Act is a deceptive trick by a few wealthy real estate developers and landlords to avoid paying their fair share in taxes, which will drive deep cuts to critical services and infrastructure – forcing taxpayers to shoulder additional costs.
